Job Summary:

Ascension St. Vincent's Birmingham is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our Cardiac Step-Down Unit. As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Deliver direct nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, including those who have had open heart surgery.
  • Develop and implement patient care plans, monitoring patient condition and communicating with the healthcare team as needed.
  • Coordinate patient care with other disciplines, including physicians, therapists, and social workers.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs with the healthcare team.
Requirements:
  • BLS Provider certification required within 1 month of hire date.
  • Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse (APRN) credentialed from the Alabama Board of Nursing required.
  • Diploma from an accredited school of nursing or required professional licensure at time of hire.
