Job Summary

As a Sterile Processing Technician at HCA Florida West Marion Hospital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our patients. Your attention to detail and dedication to delivering high-quality care will make a significant impact on our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect, assemble, and test general and specialty instrumentation for proper functioning.
  • Identify tray type by contents of instrument tray and ensure all necessary instruments are available for surgery and other hospital departments.
  • Operate and maintain all sterilization equipment, including autoclaves, ultrasonic washers, and cart washers.
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all washing, sterilization, and equipment testing.
  • Prepare, assemble, and package all instruments for surgery and other hospital departments.
  • Pull customized case cart sheets for all surgical procedures and prepare case carts.
  • Inventories, maintains, and supplies OR storage areas, specialty lockers, carts, and equipment used.
  • Audit trays for decontamination, washing, assembly, sterilization, implant usage, and instrument count sheets and tracks loaner equipment.
Requirements
  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Training as Sterile Tech preferred.
  • Certification/Experience in Sterile Processing preferred.
  • Previous Sterile Tech experience preferred.
