We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced academic leader to serve as the Dean of Science, Engineering, and Mathematics Division at InsideHigherEd. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership and vision for the Division, overseeing the development and implementation of academic programs, faculty supervision, and resource management.
Key Responsibilities- Provide administrative oversight to the Division, ensuring alignment with College policies and procedures.
- Lead the development and implementation of academic programs, including curriculum design, course scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Supervise faculty members, providing guidance and support for instructional planning, teaching, and assessment.
- Manage Division budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and effective resource allocation.
- Represent the Division and College in internal and external settings, fostering partnerships and collaborations.
- Doctorate in a Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field or a directly related field.
- Minimum 7 years of work experience in higher education administration, including faculty administrative oversight.
- Minimum 5 years of college/university teaching experience in a Science, Engineering, or Mathematics field or a directly related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in leading program instructional design and curriculum development.
- Minimum 3 years of experience with program accreditation and with program and course assessment.
- Fundraising/grant-writing experience to support higher education initiatives.
The work is sedentary, requiring occasional exertion of up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. The position requires frequent communication with administration, faculty, staff, students, and others to perform essential functions.
