Internal Medicine Physician - Oncology Specialist (Open Rank/Track Faculty)
Department:
The Ohio State University College of Medicine and the Wexner Medical Center are seeking to enhance the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Medical Oncology. Academic rank and track will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Position Overview
This role involves a physician specializing in Melanoma, contributing to the Division of Medical Oncology within the Department of Internal Medicine. Responsibilities include:
- Providing comprehensive patient care in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
- Conducting ambulatory clinics and performing thorough patient evaluations.
- Executing relevant oncology procedures and coordinating diagnostic testing.
- Formulating and implementing treatment plans, while documenting all patient interactions.
- Educating patients and promoting wellness through resources and services.
- Participating in quality assessment initiatives and serving as a mentor to medical trainees.
Department/Division Overview
The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center has expanded significantly, establishing itself as a leading institution in cancer care. We are currently prioritizing searches for oncology physicians focusing on Melanoma across various academic ranks.
Duties and Responsibilities
- 5%: Participate in continuing medical education and departmental committees.
- 5%: Mentor and train medical students and residents in oncology.
- 5%: Engage in quality improvement activities.
- 85%: Deliver direct patient care, manage treatment plans, and maintain communication with primary care providers.
Requirements
Qualified candidates must possess a Medical Doctor (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree, complete an accredited Oncology/Hematology Fellowship, and hold Board Certification in Internal Medicine. Candidates should also be board eligible or certified in Medical Oncology and meet Ohio medical licensure requirements.
