Key Responsibilities


The Radiation Oncology Medical Physicist will independently manage all aspects of medical physics responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to, offering technical guidance to Medical Dosimetrists and Therapists for various treatment modalities such as external beam, stereotactic radiosurgery, prostate implants, IMRT, IGRT, SBRT, and HDR treatments.

The Medical Physicist will possess the expertise to develop 3D, IMRT/VMAT, SRS, SBRT, and HDR Brachytherapy treatment plans as required by clinical demands.

The compensation range for this position is $161,987 - $202,483 annually.


Garnet Health System provides a compensation range in compliance with New York State law regarding Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.

The listed range does not encompass bonuses, incentives, differential pay, or other forms of compensation or benefits.

Factors such as location, specialty, service line, years of relevant experience, education, credentials, negotiated contracts, budget, and internal equity may influence the determination of a team member's compensation and/or rate.


Qualifications

Position Requirements:

Minimum Education:
Master's Degree or Doctorate in Radiological Physics or a closely related discipline such as physics, biophysics, or health physics.

Minimum Experience:

Required Certification/Registration: Successful completion of Part II of the ABR board exam and submission of New York State license application within 30 days of the start date.
BLS certification required within 90 days of employment.

Physical Demands: The role requires standing for a significant portion of the day, along with considerable mental and visual demands. The individual must remain alert, in control of equipment, and attentive to patients' conditions.

Working Conditions: The position is conducted in a quiet, dedicated, and controlled environment conducive to the concentration necessary for performing accurate calculations essential for patient treatments. Daily responsibilities include lifting heavy equipment and handling highly sensitive instruments.
