Job Summary:


The ideal candidate for this IT Field Technician role at Montana Precision Products is a self-motivated and success-driven individual who is willing to put in extra effort to keep our systems at the forefront of technology.


This position requires working independently at times and may involve after-hours work to perform maintenance tasks during non-critical hours.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Maintaining and updating technical documentation and manuals.
  • Keeping track of IT inventory.
  • Responsible for company backups and restore process using Veeam Software.
  • Responsible for printer cartridge management.
  • Repairing motherboards and upgrading firmware.
  • Acts as the first responder to onsite technology incidents and requests.
  • Assist in constructing technology guidelines and safeguards of company assets.
  • Installing and upgrading anti-virus software to ensure security at the user level.
  • Performing tests and evaluations on new hardware.
  • Establishing good relationships with all departments and colleagues.

Requirements:



  • 1-2 years of experience in the IT field as a consultant or member of an IT Department.
  • Functional understanding of TCP/IP networks and communication/security protocols.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adopt new technologies.
  • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting computer and server hardware.
  • Experience navigating and troubleshooting operating systems.
  • Willingness to troubleshoot and resolve technology-related issues for clients.
  • Willingness to work in a supportive team environment as well as independently.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Dependable and flexible when necessary.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • U.S. person status required.

Desired Qualifications:



  • Prior experience working with multiple systems in a high-availability environment.
  • Strong understanding of computer network infrastructure.
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices.
  • Knowledge of application transport and network infrastructure protocols.
  • Test, implement, and monitor servers, including database, email, file/print, and back up servers and their associated hardware and software.
  • Certifications in Microsoft Server 2016, 2018, 2019 environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Windows 10 and 11.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Certifications in CompTIA Network +, Windows 10, and Active Directory.
