Job Opportunity

LNP Media Group, a subsidiary of WITF, is seeking a skilled Freelance Sports Correspondent to report local sports for its daily print and online publications. This is an excellent opportunity for a sports enthusiast to showcase their writing skills and knowledge of local sports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend high school and college games to gather information and write engaging stories.
  • Meet professional journalism standards in writing and reporting.
  • Develop and maintain a good grasp of AP style.
  • Keep accurate statistics for the sports being covered.
  • Ensure coverage reflects the diversity of cultures in the region.
  • Exercise honesty, integrity, and respect in all interactions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and sports writing experience at a daily or weekly newspaper.
  • Strong writing skills, interpersonal communication skills, and ability to report news fairly and accurately on deadline.
  • Ability to live within a 30-minute drive of the coverage area, with opportunities available in Lancaster and Lebanon counties.
