Overview: Are you a motivated and compassionate Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) looking for a new challenge? Look no further than the Clinical Support Specialist role at WellMed Optum. In this position, you will work under the direction of providers and RNs to provide clinical support functions and professional nursing care to patients in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Job Responsibilities: As a Clinical Support Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include performing all nursing duties within the scope of a LVN/LPN, participating in implementing established education plans for patients, coordinating patient care, and documenting chief complaints and rooming patients according to policy and procedures. You will also ensure patient confidentiality and maintain a safe environment for patients and staff in the clinic.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or GED, a current and unrestricted State Vocational/Practical Nursing license, and IV certification if required by the clinic. You should also have proven knowledge of medical terminology and medical office procedures, as well as demonstrated proficient computer skills to work efficiently with electronic medical records. Additionally, you must have effective listening and communication skills, proper use of grammar and spelling, and the ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.

Estimated Salary: $22,200 per year based on average salary ranges in the San Antonio area.
