Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Airworthiness Engineer or Senior Principal Airworthiness Engineer to join our team at Northrop Grumman. This role will involve working on certification efforts for various air vehicle platforms, including flight releases, type certification, continued airworthiness, and operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform technical airworthiness planning and verification support, including development and negotiation of airworthiness plans, bases of certification, means of compliance, and other certification activities.
  • Review and coordinate with other airworthiness engineers and internal engineering disciplines to ensure compliance with airworthiness regulations.
  • Manage and maintain Type Design Data and airworthiness evidence in support of Military Type Certification and Air System Continued & Continuing Airworthiness.
  • Collaborate with airworthiness authorities, including US DoD, MoD International, and civil authorities, to ensure compliance with regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline with 5 or more years of engineering experience, or Master's with 3 or more years of experience, or PhD with 0 or more years of experience.
  • Experience leading the development of Airworthiness plans, a Basis of Certification, and related activities.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance and Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
  • Experience with USAF Airworthiness Policy Directives, Instructions, and Airworthiness Bulletins (AWB).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SharePoint.
