Wabash Inc. is seeking skilled Tank Trailer Technicians to provide outstanding service in the repair and maintenance of tank trailers. This role offers a unique opportunity to work with a leading manufacturer of stainless-steel equipment across various industries.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in petroleum, chemical, and dry bulk tank repairs is essential.
- A high school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
- A valid driver's license is required; a CDL is preferred.
- Candidates must successfully pass a pre-employment screening.
- Familiarity with DOT and ASME tank repair standards is necessary.
- Experience in maneuvering trailers in and out of the shop is advantageous.
- Proficiency in welding aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel tanks and components is required.
- Knowledge of tank plumbing and operational systems is important.
- Experience in installing power takeoffs, drive lines, and product pumping systems is beneficial.
- Understanding of DOT tank inspection procedures and testing equipment is a plus.
- Layout and fabrication skills are desirable.
- Registered Inspector training and certification is an advantage.
- Candidates must possess their own tools.
- Inspector credentials are preferred for the successful candidate.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment may involve exposure to high noise levels, temperature fluctuations, and various chemicals, including solvents and paints. The position requires working in a fast-paced setting with moving equipment and vehicles.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to stand, bend, squat, kneel, push, and pull for a minimum of eight hours.
- Regular lifting and carrying of up to 35 pounds; frequently up to 55 pounds; occasionally up to 75 pounds.
- Capability to work in elevated positions, including the use of ladders and platforms.
- Must be adept at operating various power and hand tools safely, as well as utilizing personal protective equipment (PPE).
