Department: Step Down Intensive Care Unit

Available Schedules: Full Time (Days & Nights), Part Time, Ministry Float, Weekend Option, and Flexible PRN

Shift Times: 7 AM - 7 PM, 7 PM - 7 AM, Variable

Compensation: Starting at $30.96 per hour

Role Overview:

Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with established protocols and policies of the healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY DUTIES

  • Apply medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance patient care and quality of life through systematic evaluation.
  • Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and families to create personalized care plans.
  • Utilize the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, assess patient data, and evaluate outcomes.
  • Develop management strategies considering various dimensions of health responses to actual and potential issues.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the effects of illness on patients' overall status.
  • Employ leadership skills to collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams in assessing needs and planning interventions.
  • Engage in effective communication with patients and families to ensure culturally sensitive and ethical care.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance and restoration strategies.
  • Promote a positive work environment by mentoring nursing colleagues and students.
  • Integrate evidence-based practices into nursing care, ensuring age-specific and clinical needs are met.
  • Maintain a state of alertness and safety in all tasks.
  • May conduct point-of-care testing as per established guidelines.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION

  • Graduate from an accredited nursing program or equivalent educational background for licensure.

EXPERIENCE

  • No prior experience necessary.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Frequent verbal communication and active listening.
  • Regular standing and walking.
  • Occasional lifting and moving of objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular use of vision for near and far distances, as well as color differentiation.
  • Occasional driving may be required.

CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED

State Licensure:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification - American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) License - applicable state regulatory body
