Traffic Management Specialist

AWP Safety is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Traffic Control Technician to join our team. As a key member of our traffic management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe movement of traffic through work zones, coordinating with customers, and upholding our company's core values.
Key Responsibilities- Set up, maintain, and remove advance warning signs, channelizing devices, and other traffic control devices according to federal, state, and local temporary traffic control guidelines and plans.
- Control road users through the use of hand signals with a STOP/SLOW paddle and maintain a flagger station.
- Drive a company vehicle to transport equipment, trailers, and team members to and from work sites safely and in a timely manner.
- Effective radio communication with team members on work sites and follow all company safety procedures and practices.
- Notify supervisors of any potential safety issues or incidents and achieve organizational required training within the established timeframe.
- Provide on-the-job training, coaching, and mentoring to protectors and perform other duties as assigned.
- Traffic Control Technician (TCT) certification or 2000+ verifiable hours required.
- High school diploma or GED completion required.
- Prior experience preferred in temporary traffic control services, utility industry, or construction industry.
- Excellent verbal and nonverbal communication skills.
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office products and customer relationship management systems.
- Must be able to follow safe workplace practices and possess a valid driver's license void of suspension or revocation.
Employee must be able to successfully handle the physical demands of this position, which include frequent exposure to fumes or airborne particles, frequent exposure to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites, and the ability to lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
