Job Summary

SSM Health is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of surgical instruments and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and assemble surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure proper sterilization and completeness.
  • Evaluate instruments and equipment to determine need for repair or replacement.
  • Perform decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to established protocols.
  • Inspect instruments, equipment, and containers to assure cleanliness and proper functioning.
  • Maintain proper levels of inventory to ensure availability for case carts.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • No experience required, but prior experience in a sterile processing environment is preferred.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Frequent reaching and gripping.
  • Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near and far.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, climbing, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
  • Occasional lifting, carrying, and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
