Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Wedgewood Pharmacy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supervising pharmacy technicians, communicating with providers, and ensuring the accuracy and quality of compounded veterinary medications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and Train Pharmacy Technicians: Oversee the compounding of preparations, filling and labeling of prescriptions, and prepackaging of bulk medications.
  • Communicate with Providers: Receive new prescription orders, clarify prescriptions or refill authorizations, and perform final checks on prescriptions.
  • Counsel Patients and Providers: Answer questions from patients and providers, and provide guidance on medication use and management.
  • Ensure Quality and Compliance: Consistently meet standards for accuracy, pharmaceutical elegance, and potency, and adhere to USP and guidelines, Board of Pharmacy rules and regulations.
  • Perform Other Duties: Assist with other tasks as assigned or requested by management, pharmacist in charge, or shift leader.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy (BS) or Doctorate Degree in Pharmacy (Ph.D.) from an accredited college or university.
  • License: Current License to practice as a Registered Pharmacist in the State of California.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience working in a regulated environment or equivalent experience required.
  • Skills: Excellent written, verbal communication, and presentation skills; solid interpersonal skills; ability to think and act independently; strong organization and work prioritization skills; analytical abilities; and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
