Key Responsibilities

Provides comprehensive patient care through the nursing process, which includes assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administers medications and monitors patient reactions to treatments.

Guides and directs patient care, education, and the activities of support staff while upholding professional nursing standards in accordance with Hospital Policy.

Ensures the delivery of exceptional customer service.


Effectively utilizes the nursing process in patient care by maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, as demonstrated by Nursing Performance Improvement activities.

Documents patient assessments throughout the hospital stay, addressing physical, psychological, and social factors, along with discharge planning.

Summarizes assessment findings and initiates care plans, communicating essential information to other healthcare providers, as evidenced by Nursing Performance Improvement activities.

Exhibits understanding and proficiency in the role of charge nurse.

Demonstrates expertise in Computerized Nursing Informatics (information systems).

Acts as a resource for patient care, staff orientation, and education.


Participates in a minimum of four unit staff meetings annually, attends required training sessions, and earns three hours of Patient Care Assessment Committee (PCAC) credit each year.


Engages in identifying key aspects of patient care, the indicators for monitoring care quality, and the evaluation of care provided.

Adheres to safety protocols and blood/body fluid policies.

Assesses personal development needs and maintains documentation of ongoing professional growth activities. Regularly updates knowledge of relevant techniques and regulations tailored to the patient population served. Demonstrates a willingness to participate in Nursing Committees.


Represents the organization in the community and within the institution by maintaining patient confidentiality and promoting the hospital's services effectively.

Performs additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the immediate supervisor.


Consistently delivers service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers, and colleagues, reflecting the organization's commitment to compassion, accountability, respect, excellence, and service.

Education Requirements:

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.

BSN Preferred.

Licensure/Certification:

Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse

Basic Life Support Certification required.

Psychiatric experience Preferred
