Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at VS Servicer at Ulster LLC. As a key member of our dietary services team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food to our residents, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare menu items according to standardized recipes and production sheets
  • Supervise dietary aides in the absence of managerial staff, ensuring daily production, safety, and sanitation procedures are followed
  • Ensure food items are kept out of the temperature danger zone by refrigeration or cooking
  • Follow regulations regarding storage of food items, including covering, labeling, and dating
  • Record cooling temperatures in the cooling log for pre-prepped items
  • Assist in inventory and storage of foods, supplies, and equipment
  • Ensure safe use and care of equipment by staff
  • Report hazardous conditions, equipment issues, and accidents to the shift supervisor
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Follow Universal precautions, infection control techniques, safety, and sanitation regulations
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Culinary school graduate preferred
  • Minimum 6 months of experience working in a kitchen
  • Long-term care experience preferred
  • Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
  • Strong customer service skills and compassion
  • Knowledge of therapeutic food preparation, specialty meals, and modified diets
