Job Description

This position will work at the Southwestern Virginia Mental Health Institute (SVMHI), a 72-bed psychiatric hospital operated by the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services. As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with our team, you will provide advanced nursing care for patients with psychiatric disorders in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, as well as nursing standards and regulations.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized patient care in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct thorough assessments and evaluate patient progress
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A current LPN license in the Commonwealth of Virginia or license eligibility
  • Experience working as an LPN in a psychiatric healthcare facility, acute care, long-term or correctional setting
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
