Madison College is seeking a highly motivated and qualified candidate to teach part-time courses in the Urban Forestry program. As a member of our faculty pool, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the community and lives of our students.
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for instruction in Urban Forestry at the college level. The successful candidate will develop and implement a relevant and progressive curriculum, design and implement effective learning strategies and environments, deliver instruction of high quality, assess student learning, advise students, and participate in college service activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate student learning in the Urban Forestry program
- Develop and plan instructional strategies and alternative delivery methods
- Advise and assist students with academic matters
- Evaluate student performance and provide regular feedback
- Use data to revise curriculum and improve student learning
- Collaborate with other personnel in student recruitment, retention, and job placement
- Develop and maintain curriculum in non-traditional formats
- Function in a team environment with the ability to support a cohesive department atmosphere
- Comply with college policies and directions
- Assist students in developing work experience assignments
- Design and implement strategies to engage students in the learning process
- Integrate technology into the teaching and learning process
- Attend school, program, and advisory committee meetings
- Plan and implement professional development strategies
- Maintain competencies as an instructor
- Demonstrate a commitment to the college's mission, vision, and values
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent based on verified work experience
- Two years of recent, related occupational experience outside the field of education
- Industry recognized certification/credential preferred
- Prior teaching experience preferred but not required
Working Conditions:
This position requires the ability to work daytime, evening, and weekend hours. The successful candidate will be able to communicate technical information and work effectively in a team environment.
