About the Role

Amergis is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Technician to join our team. As a Behavioral Technician, you will play a vital role in facilitating educational and behavioral services for children and adults with special needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement behavior management techniques to prevent, intervene, and address behavioral challenges
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to individuals with special needs
  • Collaborate with school professionals and other behavioral specialists to achieve learning and behavioral goals
  • Document session data and maintain accurate records
  • Collect and analyze behavioral and academic data to inform intervention strategies
  • Support students in developing independent daily living skills
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of our clients
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Two years of pediatric experience preferred
  • Compliance with relevant professional standards of practice
  • Participation in Amergis' Competency program
  • Current CPR certification (if applicable)
  • TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest x-ray (if applicable)
  • Current health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
  • Meet all federal, state, and local requirements
  • Successful completion of new hire training
  • Understanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
  • Strong communication and computer skills
