Position Summary
As a Senior Electrical Project Manager, you will focus on overseeing electrical and civil utility infrastructure initiatives. Your role will involve managing, coordinating, and executing a variety of intricate projects from initial concept through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, and project close-out. You will address challenges that require thorough analysis of multiple factors, providing recommendations based on project scope, complexity, and operational requirements. This position may involve managing several projects concurrently, and you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of all project objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead multiple complex projects by collaborating with a team of Project Coordinators, Electrical Personnel, and subcontractors, while prioritizing Health & Safety to ensure project completion within budget and schedule.
- Act as the technical authority in the procurement and execution of design and construction contracts, maintaining effective communication with clients and fostering strong relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
- Define project requirements, scope, procedures, budget, and timelines. Oversee contractual obligations, project evaluations, and reporting to ensure compliance with specifications and contractual terms.
- Manage construction documentation to maintain configuration control, including handling RFIs, submittals, and tracking as-built documentation.
- Source materials to support field operations, including obtaining supplier quotes, evaluating for cost-effectiveness, and coordinating delivery to project teams.
- Organize and facilitate meetings with team members and stakeholders, ensuring thorough documentation and follow-up on action items.
- Assist the Start-up and Commissioning team by providing necessary documentation and coordinating with third-party testing vendors.
- Conduct project close-out activities, including final inspections, permit closures, and documentation of lessons learned.
- Supervise project support staff and team members as needed.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 3 years in electrical construction project management.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
- Experience leading diverse teams, including contractors and subcontractors, while providing guidance and training to ensure high-quality deliverables.
- Proven ability to develop and manage project budgets and schedules, and coordinate project delivery.
- Familiarity with hazardous energy control procedures and electrical systems, with the ability to interpret electrical single line diagrams.
- Proficient in project management software and certified Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS) techniques.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong ability to collaborate with various stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Field experience in commercial electrical construction.
- Possession of a Journeyman or Master Electrician's license.
Compensation & Benefits:
The compensation range for this position is between $90,000 and $120,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance after three months and a 401K plan with company matching after one year.
