Position Summary: Under the guidance of the Retail Store Manager or Department Head, the Retail Sales Representative will assist customers in locating products and ensuring a pleasant shopping experience. Responsibilities include stocking, merchandising, and maintaining cleanliness in the assigned department or store area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and assist them in finding products.
  • Provide customer service via phone inquiries.
  • Recommend products to help customers complete their projects effectively.
  • Utilize vendor catalogs and websites to assist customers with special orders.
  • Process customer orders accurately in the Epicor system and follow up on the status of these orders.
  • Transfer stock from back areas to the sales floor as needed.
  • Restock shelves with merchandise.
  • Support customers in other departments when required.
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Store Manager or Department Head.
  • Perform duties to meet customer needs, such as mixing paint or cutting keys.
  • Maintain product organization and cleanliness throughout the store.
  • Rotate perishable stock as necessary.
  • Ensure the store and assigned department are clean and organized.
  • Promote products to enhance sales opportunities.
  • Communicate any pricing discrepancies, stock shortages, or customer feedback to management.
  • Assist in organizing back-stock areas.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance overall store performance.
  • Engage in training to improve product knowledge.

Qualifications:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; or six months to one year of related experience and/or training.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members.
  • Basic mathematical skills for handling transactions and inventory.
  • Ability to apply common sense to solve problems and follow instructions.

Physical Requirements:

This position requires the ability to:

  • Use hands for handling and reaching.
  • Walk frequently and occasionally sit or climb.
  • Lift and move items up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds occasionally.

Work Environment:

The work environment is dynamic, with exposure to various weather conditions and a loud noise level.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position with hours assigned based on business needs.
