JOB SUMMARY:
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and overseeing the overall operations of the Nursing department. This role ensures the highest standards of care in compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies. You will foster a physical, social, and psychological environment that promotes the health and well-being of residents while proactively addressing the needs of residents, staff, and the community. You will lead clinical initiatives, providing oversight for training, education, and effective clinical practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the applicable state, free of restrictions, or the ability to obtain a state-specific license.
- Experience in supervisory or management roles within Long Term Care (LTC).
- Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
- Strong skills in business and financial management, critical thinking, and effective communication, both verbal and written.
- Ability to set and achieve challenging goals for yourself and your team, including ongoing coaching, training, and development of a high-quality nursing staff.
- Capability to perform the essential functions of this position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
