Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive respiratory care, adhering to established standards and protocols.
- Utilize advanced respiratory therapy techniques to assess and address patient needs.
- Administer prescribed therapies and medications while ensuring equipment functionality.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, self-care, and disease management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient care.
- Promote safety by adhering to protocols and reporting any incidents promptly.
- Mentor and train new staff and students in best practices.
Licensure and Certification:
- Must possess a valid Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory.
Educational Background:
- Graduate from an accredited respiratory care program with at least an associate degree.
Experience:
- No prior experience is necessary.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to make informed decisions regarding patient care.
- Proficient in electronic medical records and computer systems.
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
- Must demonstrate safe body mechanics at all times.
