Job Title: Grocery Cashier

At Hays Supermarket, we are seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Grocery Cashier to join our team. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, processing transactions accurately and efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Process transactions accurately and efficiently, handling cash, credit, and debit transactions, as well as processing coupons and other forms of payment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized store environment, including the checkout lanes, sales floor, and stockroom.
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating with colleagues and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management, including opening and closing the store, and participating in inventory management and stockroom tasks.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior experience as a cashier or in a retail environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers and colleagues.
  • Basic math skills and accuracy with handling cash and credit transactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
