State and Local Tax Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled State and Local Tax Associate to join our team at RSM. As a key member of our SALT services team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional tax compliance and advisory services to our clients.
Responsibilities:
- Integrate state and local tax services with existing clients to ensure seamless delivery of services.
- Complete tax planning and research tasks to identify opportunities for clients to minimize tax exposure.
- Develop a deep understanding of state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements to provide expert guidance to clients.
- Review clients' current tax processes to identify inefficiencies and provide enhancements to improve procedures and reduce tax exposure.
- Work with clients' information technology personnel to obtain data for reporting requirements, audit procedures, and review for potential refunds or credits.
- Assist clients with evaluating sales/use tax software systems that meet their compliance needs and support the implementation process.
Requirements:
- Minimum B.A. or B.S. degree or equivalent from an accredited university.
- Accounting major.
- Travel to assigned client locations is required. Must have access to and ability to arrange for use of reliable modes of transportation to those locations.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Working toward the successful completion of the CPA exam - tax associates have the opportunity to obtain the audit hours required for full certification.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to work effectively on a team.
- Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation Range: $66,880 - $79,800
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
