Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Officer to join our team at McLean Hospital. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff. This is a part-time morning position, requiring a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times.

Key Responsibilities
  • Security Operations
    • Respond to emergency calls and incidents in a timely and professional manner.
    • Conduct patrols of the hospital property and grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment.
    • Monitor and respond to security cameras and alarms.
    • Provide escorts to patients, visitors, and staff as needed.
  • Dispatch and Console Duties
    • Coordinate security activities and respond to requests for assistance.
    • Answer incoming phone calls and provide information to callers.
    • Prioritize and assign responses to incidents and requests for assistance.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    • Document all incidents and responses in a clear and concise manner.
    • Complete all necessary reports and paperwork in a timely fashion.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, visitors, and staff.
    • Respond to customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Training and Certification
    • Complete all required training and certification programs, including CPR/AED/First Aid and CPI De-Escalation Training.
    • Obtain and maintain required certifications, including IAHSS Basic Officer Certification.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High school diploma or equivalent required.
    • Associate's or bachelor's degree in criminal justice or related field preferred.
  • Experience
    • Minimum of 1-3 years of security or related experience preferred.
  • Certifications
    • CPR/AED/First Aid certification required.
    • CPI De-Escalation Training certification required.
    • IAHSS Basic Officer Certification required within first 90 days.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Ability to handle a high volume of activity and complex interpersonal situations.
    • Ability to recognize potential impacts of decisions and ensure best positive outcomes.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time morning position, requiring a strong commitment to providing exceptional customer service and maintaining a high level of professionalism at all times. The successful candidate will be required to work a variety of shifts, including weekends and holidays.
