Job Title: Radiologic Technologist - CT

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist - CT to join our team for a travel assignment in a leading healthcare institution. As a Radiologic Technologist - CT, you will be responsible for performing computed tomography procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images for diagnosis and treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform CT procedures and related techniques to produce high-quality images
  • Use professional judgment when reviewing and obtaining patient's clinical history for procedures
  • Prepare, screen, and review the accuracy of the contrast questionnaire with patients and/or family members
  • Identify and/or administer contrast media related to CT exams as prescribed by licensed practitioners
  • Review patient prescriptions to verify appropriateness of exams and communicate with Radiologists and Referring Physicians as needed
  • Responsible for calling physicians to clarify prescriptions in accordance with CT protocols
  • Verify insurance authorized exam scripts and send exam modification forms to Finance for re-verification
  • Obtain outside studies (CD) and schedule them in EPIC to make reports available for Radiologists
  • Provide exam copies to patients and requesting physicians and/or family members
  • Evaluate radiographs using PACS System to ensure proper identification and diagnostic value
  • Use consistent and appropriate techniques to gather relevant information from medical records, significant others, and healthcare providers to prepare protocols for scanning and patient safety
  • Determine whether patients have been appropriately prepared for procedures
  • Prep patients for scanning (shielding, immobilization devices)
  • Determine appropriate type and dose of contrast to be administered
  • Provide accurate explanations and instructions at any appropriate time and at a level patients can understand
  • Address and document patient questions and concerns regarding procedures when appropriate
  • Perform venipuncture, IV patency, and maintenance procedures according to established guidelines
  • Monitor patients' physical conditions for any adverse reactions during procedures
  • Responsible for scheduled shifts, including holidays and weekends
  • Overtime as needed to provide continual quality patient care
  • On-call assignments as needed per Department of Radiology policy
  • Adhere to Employee ID, Standards of Behavior, Attendance, and Punctuality policies
  • Lift a minimum of 25 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 50 lbs., and stand a minimum of 6 hours a day
  • Identify patient population needs and modify and deliver care specific to those needs
  • Communicate with patients, parents, and/or primary caregivers at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.)
  • Adhere to Medical Center's Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of anatomy and physiology and radiological positioning of the human body
  • Understanding mechanical attributes of CT software and hardware
  • Thorough knowledge of PACS system
  • Maintains CEU Credits
  • Team members must achieve ARRT (CT) certification within 12 months following hire date
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 3 months of hire date
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • Six months CT experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Epic and any HIS/RIS system added by the hospital
  • Graduate of a Radiologic Technologist program
