As an Entry-Level Technical Director, you will be instrumental in managing the technical elements of our news broadcasts. Comprehensive training will be provided to equip you with the necessary skills to oversee live broadcasts, recorded segments, and special news events. This position is particularly suited for detail-oriented candidates who have a strong interest in news production and a commitment to growth within the broadcasting field.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the technical execution of live and recorded news broadcasts, including video switching, audio management, graphics integration, and video playback.
  • Collaborate closely with producers and directors to comprehend and implement broadcast strategies.
  • Learn to operate various broadcasting equipment, such as switchers, audio consoles, servers, and other technical systems.
  • Support the identification and resolution of technical challenges during broadcasts.
  • Engage in training sessions and hands-on learning to enhance your technical expertise.
  • Work alongside technical and production teams to ensure seamless broadcast operations.
  • Help maintain broadcasting equipment and systems under the supervision of experienced staff.
  • Adhere to standard operating procedures and contribute to upholding high broadcast quality standards.
  • Assist in the preparation and setup of live broadcasts and recorded segments.

Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of video and audio production, gained through education, internships, or relevant experience.
  • Strong enthusiasm for news production and broadcasting technology.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and workflows.
  • Ability to perform well under pressure and manage time efficiently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to producing high-quality results.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Clear driving record, car insurance, and successful completion of pre-employment drug testing and background checks.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with software such as Photoshop, Premiere, or After Effects is advantageous.
  • Experience in live streaming or digital content production is a plus.
