Night Custodian

Job Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented On Call Night Custodian to maintain a clean and safe school environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various custodial tasks, including cleaning, dusting, and sanitizing rooms, as well as operating equipment and performing maintenance work.

Responsibilities:

• Clean and sanitize rooms, including dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures
• Operate equipment such as vacuum cleaners, rug cleaners, and hand and small power tools
• Install paper products and deliver supplies and materials
• Perform preventive maintenance work, including painting, replacing bulbs and ballasts, and replacing glass
• Relocate furniture and equipment, and complete facility setups
• Complete inventory reports, daily cleaning and maintenance reports, and supply orders
• Perform building and equipment maintenance tasks
• Keep exterior walks and lawns free of debris, and complete snow removal and other exterior work as requested
• Attend and participate in training programs
• Keep equipment clean and perform light carpentry work
• Follow safety procedures at all times
• Perform security detail in the playground area
• Assist with traffic duties as needed
• Perform other duties as reasonably requested or assigned by the Supervisor

Requirements:

• At least three years of experience in a similar position or a position with comparable functions
• Knowledge of federal and state safety regulations that apply to public buildings
• Ability to pass a state and federal background check
