We are pleased to present an exciting opportunity at American Packaging Corporation (APC) for the position of Manufacturing Controls Engineer:
- Support the Plant Engineer and/or Plant Manager with a variety of engineering responsibilities.
- Supervise the installation of new machinery and the modification of existing systems.
- Manage programming tools such as PLC, HMI, and Drive systems.
- Develop comprehensive schematics for component fabrication.
- Diagnose and rectify equipment malfunctions that impact production efficiency.
- Engage in collaborative efforts to enhance processes and resolve production challenges.
Primary duties include:
- Creating precise schematics.
- Actively participating in the diagnosis of electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues.
- Expertise in PLC and HMI programming, along with AC/DC drive design and programming.
- Familiarity with computer systems and software applications.
- Overseeing the installation, commissioning, and modification of equipment.
- Involvement in the procurement of equipment and services.
- Providing insights to the maintenance team and contractors.
- Complying with safety standards and fostering a safety-oriented culture.
Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree, associate's degree, or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
- Prior experience in a comparable position is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and flexibility.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Knowledge of safety regulations including OSHA, NFPA, NEC, EPA, and WDNR.
