Overview

Mercy Women & Children's is a comprehensive service line that includes 12 Labor & Delivery Suites, 2 Obstetric Operating Suites, 6 High Risk Perinatal Suites, 14 Mother/Baby Couplet Care Suites, a Level 3 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) with 19 private suites and special suites for multiples and a 20-bed Pediatric/GYN/Surgical unit.

All nurses working in W&C Services are cross-trained to at least 2 clinical care departments and float within the unit. W&C Departments are considered closed units, so floating to departments outside of W&C is not required. All nurses are required to take call shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Provide care for women ranging from low-risk/low-intervention deliveries to high risk antenatal care and delivery.
  • Staffed around the clock, 24/7 with in-house Board-Certified OB Hospitalists, OB Anesthesia and highly skilled nursing and surgical staff with full coverage Maternal Fetal Medicine availability.
  • Typical nurse patient ratios are 1:2 in these units with high risk ratios of 1:1 based on acuity.
Requirements
  • Education: Graduated from an accredited school of nursing
  • Licensure: Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Arkansas.
  • Certifications: BLS through the American Heart Association
  • Experience: Must have 1 year of Labor & Birth experience
