Position Overview

The Library Aide plays a crucial role in maintaining the organization and accessibility of library resources.

HOURS:
12-19 hours per week - shifts include afternoons, evenings, weekends

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for shelving returned materials and ensuring proper order of books. This includes conducting shelf reading and transporting carts of books across library floors.
  • Assist with routine behind-the-scenes library operations.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate must possess the ability to:

  • Exhibit a strong public service orientation and engage effectively with patrons.
  • Manage physical tasks such as pushing carts filled with books and bending or stretching as necessary.
  • Follow directions accurately and complete tasks with attention to detail.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
  • Work independently on designated assignments.
