Job Summary

Laser Logistics is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the maintenance and repair of our fleet of heavy equipment and trucks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment and trucks, including front-end loaders, bulk soil screeners, semi-trucks, and dump trucks.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, and recommend repairs and maintenance to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
  • Work closely with the Operations Manager to prioritize and schedule maintenance and repairs, and to ensure that all work is completed on time and within budget.
  • Perform periodic inspections and maintenance on equipment to identify potential issues and prevent breakdowns.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure that all equipment is properly maintained and that all work is completed safely and efficiently.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair, preferably with experience working on front-end loaders, bulk soil screeners, semi-trucks, and dump trucks.
  • High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Proficient in the following systems: brakes, cooling, drive, electrical, exhaust and emissions control, heating and air conditioning, hydraulic, air, steering and suspension, and coupling services.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, and to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively with others and to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently.
Working Conditions
  • The physical demands of this job include standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds, with occasional lifting of up to 100 pounds.
  • The employee will work in a variety of environments, including outdoors in all weather conditions, and in a shop environment with exposure to loud noises, hot and cold temperatures, and dust.
  • The employee will be required to wear personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, gloves, and a hard hat, as needed.
