Job Overview:

As a Phlebotomy Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our laboratory by collecting and processing patient specimens. Your attention to detail and ability to multitask will be essential in meeting the demands of this position.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized individual to join our team at UNC Health.

Our company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including a competitive salary range of $45,000 - $55,000 per year, based on experience, and a part-time schedule of 16 hours per week.

Responsibilities:
  • Collect blood from patients using venipuncture or capillary puncture techniques
  • Process and deliver specimens to the appropriate sections of the laboratory
  • Maintain accurate records and identify specimens correctly
  • Answer phones, receive orders for testing, and place those orders in the computer
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma and completion of a phlebotomy course
  • Certification from an accredited agency (NPA, ASCP, NHA, National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel)
  • At least 1 year of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Assistant
  • Proficient in basic laboratory procedures and laboratory terminology
