Position Summary

Be the catalyst for change and unleash your passion for math education. As a Math Tutor with Math Corps, you will play a vital role in empowering students in grades 4-8 to build their math skills and confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one support to students, helping them grasp basic math concepts and build their skills.
  • Track student progress and collaborate with the school's on-site coach to ensure effective tutoring.
  • Conduct skill assessments and enter student scores into data software to monitor progress.
  • Commit to your own growth as a tutor through coaching, training, and professional development.
  • Represent Math Corps at school events and share your experience with the community to raise awareness about the importance of math education.
Requirements
  • Be a caring adult with a passion for math education.
  • Have a history of good attendance and be dependable.
  • Be able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Be open to making improvements based on feedback.
  • Be capable of setting a pace and maintaining a schedule with students.
  • Be competent with basic computer skills, including email and online navigation.
  • Be fluent in English for speaking, reading, and writing.
  • Be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Be a citizen, national, or lawful permanent resident of the United States.
  • Be able to successfully complete a background check.
