About the Role

At US Foods, Inc., we are seeking a skilled Fleet Maintenance Technician Leader to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our fleet road equipment, ensuring compliance with trucking regulations.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing maintenance logs, performing preventative maintenance, and providing road rescue services when needed. They will also be required to troubleshoot, diagnose, rebuild, replace, and complete all required repairs on diesel equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with diesel equipment, including tractors, trailers, bobtails, reefers, lift gates, etc.
  • Perform preventative maintenance within company standards
  • Complete documentation of all repair orders, PM lists, and parts accountability
  • Handle road service calls and perform road rescue/transport equipment as needed
  • Keep track of assigned repairs by logging in and out of the Shop Fax system
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with workplace safety rules and regulations and government guidelines
Requirements
  • 3 years of commercial diesel mechanic or reefer experience
  • Ability to comply with EPA and OSHA regulations as pertaining to the shop and fleet
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to communicate with co-workers and drivers
  • Ability to manage multiple functions simultaneously in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision
  • Computer and software experience
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights and weekends
  • Must be able to work overtime when needed
