Position: Vehicle Operator

Compensation: $17.60/hour to start

Employment Type: Full-time - 30+ hours/week

Location: Hancock

The Vehicle Operator is responsible for driving agency vehicles to ensure safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation for all riders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle as necessary.
  • Communicate effectively with passengers and staff.
  • Possess a good understanding of the local area.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately.
  • Address minor issues with riders in a clear and professional manner.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience:
  • Up to 12 months of relevant driving experience is required.
  • Compliance with mandated reporting.
  • First Aid/CPR/Blood-borne pathogen certification within 30 days.
  • Successful completion of a physical examination.
  • Defensive Driving certification within 30 days.
  • Children's Transportation Training.
  • Pass a Department of Human Services background check.
  • Pass national and state criminal background checks.
  • Clearance from the National Sex Offender Registry.
  • Passenger Assistance Training within 30 days.
  • Customer Service training.
  • HIPAA training.
  • Fingerprinting as required.
  • Fire extinguisher training.
  • Emergency Procedure training.
  • Training for handling Difficult Passengers.
  • FTA Drug Awareness training.
  • Understanding of passengers with disabilities.
Education:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Ability to pass all background checks.
  • Must pass random drug and alcohol screenings.
  • Minimum age of 21 years.
  • Valid driver's license for at least 5 years.
