The Vehicle Operator is responsible for driving agency vehicles to ensure safe, comfortable, and efficient transportation for all riders.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service.
- Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking from the vehicle as necessary.
- Communicate effectively with passengers and staff.
- Possess a good understanding of the local area.
- Complete all required paperwork accurately.
- Address minor issues with riders in a clear and professional manner.
Experience:
- Up to 12 months of relevant driving experience is required.
- Compliance with mandated reporting.
- First Aid/CPR/Blood-borne pathogen certification within 30 days.
- Successful completion of a physical examination.
- Defensive Driving certification within 30 days.
- Children's Transportation Training.
- Pass a Department of Human Services background check.
- Pass national and state criminal background checks.
- Clearance from the National Sex Offender Registry.
- Passenger Assistance Training within 30 days.
- Customer Service training.
- HIPAA training.
- Fingerprinting as required.
- Fire extinguisher training.
- Emergency Procedure training.
- Training for handling Difficult Passengers.
- FTA Drug Awareness training.
- Understanding of passengers with disabilities.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Ability to pass all background checks.
- Must pass random drug and alcohol screenings.
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- Valid driver's license for at least 5 years.
