Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Apheresis Technician II to join our team at RWJBarnabas Health. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood and blood components from suitable donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood and blood components from suitable donors and patients using automated and non-automated procedures.
  • Perform therapeutic apheresis procedures and HPC collections under the direction and supervision of a Therapeutic Apheresis RN.
  • Adhere to all FDA, NJDOH, AABB, FACT and Blood Services guidelines to ensure patient/donor safety and product acceptability.
  • Correctly assign each donation a unique number and collect requested laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Provide observation and post-procedural care to recognize any unstable situations and intervene appropriately.
