Senior Underwriter

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Underwriter to join our team at Liberty Mutual. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for underwriting policies within your authority, making analytical decisions based on data and information provided, and pricing risks.

• Manage a portfolio of brokers/agents and clients, leveraging market presence and knowledge to develop and underwrite profitable business.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with agents and brokers, identifying opportunities to strengthen existing relationships and develop new ones.
• Contribute to team projects, such as process and tool improvement, and participate in product development and execution.
• Mentor junior underwriters and new hires, providing guidance and support to help them grow in their roles.
• Analyze departmental portfolios and make suggestions for development, recognizing emerging trends and exposures within line of business expertise.

• Degree in Business or equivalent typically required.
• A minimum of 2.5 years, typically 3 or more years, of progressive underwriting experience and/or other related experience.
• CPCU or professional insurance designation preferred.
• Proven analytical ability to evaluate and judge underwriting risks within scope of responsibility.
• Must demonstrate comprehension of complex technical underwriting issues and be capable of defining and implementing necessary underwriting and administrative processes/workflows.
