Cardiovascular Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at The Christ Hospital Cardiovascular Associates. As a Cardiovascular Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our cardiovascular team.
Responsibilities:- Conduct thorough patient interviews to determine medical problems and conditions, documenting findings in the electronic medical record (EMR) as needed.
- Obtain and record patient vital signs, including weight, and assist physicians with patient examinations as necessary.
- Explain procedures and treatments to patients to ensure their understanding and cooperation.
- Manage patient comfort and safety needs, including lipids and protimes, and provide phone triage for patient concerns.
- Follow up on physician orders and lab requests, obtaining direction as needed and informing patients of test results and further treatment prescribed.
- Provide education and explanation to patients, documenting services performed in the EMR for billing purposes.
- Observe patients, record significant conditions and reactions, and notify supervisors or physicians of patient conditions and reactions to drugs, treatment, and significant incidents.
- Assist physicians in clinical care, including documenting nursing history and physical assessments for assigned patients.
- Initiate patient education plans according to individualized patient needs, as prescribed by physicians.
- Abstract patient records via the EMR and perform other EMR functions, such as tasking, messaging, and disease management.
- Use Centricity and other software as appropriate to support nursing functions.
- Respond to emergency situations based on nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
- Maintain crash cart and defibrillator.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- The Christ Hospital Health Network hires AD and Diploma nurses; BSN preferred.
- 3 years RN experience preferred.
