Job Opportunity

Lone Star Legal Aid is seeking a dedicated Staff Attorney to join its Nacogdoches Branch Office.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing legal representation to low-income Texans, advocating for their civil rights, and promoting equal access to justice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct civil lawsuits, gather evidence, and draft legal documents
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and represent them in court
  • Interview clients and witnesses, and handle case preparation
  • Participate in community education and outreach initiatives
  • Supervise and coordinate activities of subordinate staff

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Law School
  • Licensed to practice in Texas or qualify for reciprocity
  • Prior legal services or public interest experience preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bilingual (Spanish & English) speaking/writing skills
  • Strong legal writing and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated client service orientation
