Somali Linguist

We are seeking a skilled Somali Linguist to provide interpretation and translation services in support of ongoing and new U.S. operations and mission requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Somali language and culture, with the ability to provide accurate and nuanced translations and interpretations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing foreign language support services, including transcription and translation/interpretation services, as well as cultural and ethnic context of translations and interpretations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide foreign language support services, including transcription and translation/interpretation services
• Provide cultural and ethnic context of translations and interpretations
• Perform document exploitation, scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents and intercepted data for key information
• Identify and extract information components meeting military information requirement list criteria

Requirements:

• ILR level 3 in both Target Language and English
• Native proficiency preferred, not required
• Must have at minimum (2) years' experience of interpretation / translation
• Must have document exploitation skills
• Must have in-depth geo-political knowledge
• Must be computer literate

Security Requirements:

• Must have at minimum, an ACTIVE TOP SECRET security clearance with the ability to obtain an SCI
• Must be able to pass a polygraph and a CI Focus Interview
