About the Role
This locums opportunity offers a rewarding chance to practice value-based primary care while making a meaningful impact on patient health outcomes. As a Locum Tenens Physician, you will be responsible for treating adult patients aged 18, managing chronic conditions, and ensuring high-quality care. You will work closely with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive medical assessments, order diagnostic tests, prescribe medications, and refer patients to specialists when necessary.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Conducting comprehensive medical assessments and reviewing patient history
- Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
- Presuming medications and treatment plans to optimize patient outcomes
- Referring patients to specialists when necessary and coordinating their care
- Maintaining accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
Requirements and Qualifications
To be considered for this position, candidates must have a Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited medical school, active Texas Medical License, and board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in a primary care or urgent care setting is also required. Bilingualism in English & Spanish is preferred. Proficiency in EHR systems and medical database software is essential.
