Job Summary

Dartmouth Health is seeking a Board Certified / Board Eligible OB/GYN physician to join our busy practice at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center.

The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing clinical and related administrative services to ensure timely care of patients
  • Abiding by the Dartmouth Health Bylaws for the Professional Staff and Code of Conduct
  • Reviewing records and detailed medical history from patient(s)
  • Determining appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan
  • Ordering appropriate screening and diagnostic tests and studies
  • Obtaining informed consent for treatment, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures and studies
  • Interpreting and evaluating test and study results
  • Prescribing medications, treatments, and medical devices in accordance with specialty scope of practice and applicable rules and regulations
  • Initiating referrals to other providers as necessary
  • Initiating admission/discharge of patients, if applicable
  • Providing consultation, education, and counseling regarding the management of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries
  • Encouraging behavioral change and assisting with self-management skills to improve overall health, within specialty scope of practice
  • Completing appropriate documentation in a timely manner
  • Providing patient and family-centered care
  • Ensuring the patient's right to privacy, confidentiality, and informed consent
  • Supervising APPs as directed
  • Participating in continuing medical education (CME)
  • Participating in quality and patient safety initiatives
  • Performing other duties as assigned
