Job Summary:

The Concrete Dispatcher plays a vital role in the heart of the Summers-Taylor Concrete Division. This position involves constant communication with customers, plant personnel, and sales teams. Working in a high-volume environment, the dispatcher will spend most of their time making and answering phone calls, managing electronic concrete dispatching schedules, and ensuring seamless delivery operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Communicate professionally with customers, sales teams, and plant personnel regarding scheduled deliveries.
  • Accurately and confidently facilitate orders based on job site locations, terrains, weather, truck capacities, and timing parameters.
  • Present exceptional customer service skills at all times.
  • Communicate and respond to customer comments, questions, and concerns.
  • Think critically to resolve issues and conflicts that arise.
  • Assist with customer payments when necessary.
  • Continuously monitor, data enter, add, and change orders within scheduling software accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • Be comfortable and confident working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Be able to work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Have strong computer skills and phone etiquette.
  • Be able to sit or stand for extended periods in front of computer monitors.
  • Have prior experience in a dispatcher role, preferably in the concrete division, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Hold a high school diploma; a college degree is preferred but not required.
  • Be willing to work in a team environment and assist coworkers and supervisors with other duties as needed.
  • Hold a valid driver's license.
  • Comply with drug screen, physical, and background check requirements.
  • Speak Spanish or be bilingual (a plus).
