YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machinery, including 3, 4, and 5 axis mills, live tooling lathes, and mill-turn machines to fabricate prototypes, machine parts, and injection molds.
  • Execute machining tasks based on 3D models, technical drawings, and/or verbal directives.
  • Maintain tooling documentation and manage configuration control on legacy programs.
  • Instruct operators on utilizing and producing components from developed programs.
  • Engage with engineers to provide Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DfMA) feedback.
  • Draft guidelines for machinists.
  • Review 3D CAD design schematics.
  • Validate completed programs through simulations or practical tests.
  • Prepare geometric layouts of designs using appropriate software tools.
  • Determine the sequence of operations within a program.
  • Select necessary cutting tools for machining tasks.
  • Analyze job orders and perform required calculations.
  • Write and modify programs to enhance efficiency.
  • Assess and select optimal speeds and cutting tools for operations.
  • Implement improvements to reduce setup times and enhance contouring of complex shapes.
  • Streamline tooling processes for operators to boost productivity.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED, along with a two-year technical program Diploma in a relevant field, plus a minimum of six years of experience in the technical domain; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Proven ability to manage a moderate level of activity under various conditions and constraints.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, TEAMS, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Demonstrated capability to handle a high level of activity under diverse conditions and constraints.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to the administrative demands of the role.
  • Expertise in using Creo Manufacturing, Autodesk Feature CAM, or DP Technologies Esprit software.
  • Experience in creating and integrating Renishaw probing routines to ensure the quality of machined components.
  • Familiarity with Haas and/or DMG Mori controls is preferred.
  • Proficiency with manual lathes, knee mills, and various other manual machinery.
