Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute each task with the excellence and diligence expected by our customers at Sarasota Ford.
  • Diagnose and repair automotive systems, including but not limited to engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, braking, and air conditioning, to specifications.
  • Communicate mechanical diagnoses to our service team and keep customers informed when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, ensuring equipment is in excellent condition at all times.
  • Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through formal training sessions to stay current with rapidly evolving technology.
  • Recondition the dealership's pre-owned vehicles, performing light-duty technician and maintenance repairs.
  • Conduct general maintenance and thorough vehicle inspections.
  • Understand and adhere to federal, state, and local regulations, including the proper disposal of hazardous waste.

All candidates must successfully complete pre-employment testing, including background checks, MVR, and drug testing to qualify for employment.

Qualifications:

A qualified applicant will possess:

  • At least 2 years of automotive technician experience preferred.
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
  • Ford STARS certification preferred.
  • Excellent diagnostic skills.
  • Team-oriented, flexible, and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service.
  • Experience in a high-volume dealership preferred.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and computer skills.
  • Professional appearance and grooming.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and take independent initiative when necessary.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license with no severe infractions within the last 3 years.
  • Ability to work in a warm and humid climate.
  • A commitment to continuous learning in career development.
