Responsibilities:
  • Perform therapeutic, diagnostic, and emergency respiratory care procedures
  • Assess, treat, care, and evaluate patients with respiratory insufficiencies
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to develop and implement patient care plans
  • Conduct pulmonary function testing and analyze results
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of respiratory care practices and protocols
Requirements:
  • Graduate of a Respiratory Care Program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC)
  • RCP-Respiratory Care Practitioner certification
  • BLS-Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification within 180 days of hire
  • PALS-Pediatric Advanced Life Support certification within 180 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Acute care clinical experience in Respiratory Care
  • Training in arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
  • Previous experience in performing EKG
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
  • Knowledge of bedside pulmonary function testing and mechanics
  • Knowledge of arterial puncture and blood gas analysis
  • Critical thinking skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment

Sutter Health is an equal opportunity employer. The salary range for this role is $50.64 to $62.03 per hour. Compensation takes into account several factors, including experience, education, skills, licensure, and certifications. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
