Job Overview

CRH Plc. is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CDL Trainee to join our Ready Mix and Materials Transportation team. As a CDL Trainee, you will assist the batch plant manager with maintenance of the worksite to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pre- and Post-Trip Inspections: Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) guidelines.
  • Equipment Operation: Load and unload equipment of materials, monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle, and maintain daily vehicle mileage logs.
  • Safety and Compliance: Properly follow all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment, obey applicable laws, and follow dispatch instructions.
  • Quality Control: Assure product quality to the best of ability and perform minor servicing and maintenance of equipment.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Work effectively in a team environment, communicate verbally and in writing, and professionally interact with customers.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, and must maintain a valid CDL certification at an accredited educational institution.
  • Physical Demands: Availability to work any rotating shift, including weekends, and ability to walk or stand greater than one third of the time, or sit no greater than a third of the time.
  • Work Environment: Capability to work in elevated and or confined spaces, ability to climb ramps or stairs repeatedly, and ability to work outdoors with a wide range of environmental exposure.
