Senior Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Respiratory Therapist to join our team at The Grand Pavilion for Rehabilitation and Nursing at Rockville Centre. As a senior member of our respiratory therapy department, you will play a key role in delivering exceptional patient care and treatment.
Job Summary:This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a skilled Respiratory Therapist with experience in rehab centers to utilize their expertise to provide specialized care and treatment to patients with cardio-pulmonary, respiratory conditions neurological disorders and physical conditions that manifest into respiratory disorders over an extended period.
Responsibilities:- Patient Care: Develop and maintain systems which build and enhance the facility's reputation for being the unparalleled provider of Respiratory Therapy, demonstrating the facility's approach to interdisciplinary care. This includes but is not limited to:
o Oversight of departmental operations
o Compliance with facility policies, procedures, clinical standards, and protocols
o Compliance with documentation guidelines and regulatory requirements - Financial Performance: Monitor the financial performance of the Respiratory Therapy department and effectively seek methods to improve this performance while ensuring that standards are consistently observed. This includes but is not limited to:
o Achieving and maintaining revenue, productivity, and gross profit margin goals
o Managing key operations and financial levers to achieve budget projections, including development and implementation of action plans as necessary - Professional Development: Contribute to professional development of self and facility staff. This includes but is not limited to:
o Maintaining current professional status and licensure
o Adhering to professional standards of conduct and clinical code of ethics and practice
o Providing new employee orientation and ongoing staff development programs - Reputation Building: Aid in building and maintaining the facility's reputation as the unparalleled respiratory therapy provider by contributing as a professional member of the staff. This includes but is not limited to:
o Consistently demonstrating the facility's core values by interacting with co-workers, patients and families, with all other persons involved with the patient's care - Treatment Delivery: Provide patient treatments which meet patient needs and use current treatment knowledge in accordance with facilities clinical procedures. This includes but is not limited to:
o Performing accurate, comprehensive patient evaluations
o Developing effective plan of treatment and obtaining appropriate approvals from referring physician - Documentation: Write accurate, complete, and clear documentation in accordance with CareRite Centers, regulatory, licensing, payor, and accrediting requirements. This includes but is not limited to:
o Recording Screens/Resident Needs Reviews, evaluations, daily treatment notes, in accordance with facility Policies and Procedures - Team Collaboration: Demonstrate safe working practices. This includes but is not limited to:
o Identifying and correcting safety hazards or notifying the facility or the admin so that safety hazards will be immediately remedied

Requirements: To be considered for this role, applicants must have a strong background in respiratory therapy, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient care. Salary: $76,900-$94,300 per year, based on experience.
